Purchase of Publications
The following are direct links to Web sites offering on-line sales of publications
relevant to soil health, agroforestry, small farm development and other
agriculture topics of interest.
FAO's
On-line Publications Catalogue allows purchase of publications
and CD-ROMs on a variety of international agriculture topics (also in
French and Spanish). Links to local distributors throughout the world
(on- and off-line) allow payment in local currencies in some cases.
USA-based
land grant univeristy agricultural extension publications for
sale can be found through the listings page of the Agricultural Communicators
in Education (ACE) E-answers site. Material for over 50 educational institutions
is available.
Agroforester.com's
Permanent
Agriculture Resources page contains a list of free downloadable
English language agroforestry publications (e-mail journasl, guides, and
bulletins) as well as ordering information for purchasing hard copies
on-line.
The Forest, Farm
and Community Tree Network's FACT
Net publications page has prices and ordering information for
nitrogen fixing tree (NFT) research articles, proceedings, field guides
and other related information. Some of the Fact
Sheets and Highlights describing over 75 NFT species are also
available in Indonesian, Spanish, French, Chinese, Vietnamese and Khmer.
AGNET
lists UK-priced agricultural publications that can be purchased on-line.
There is a good selection under the organic agriculture and fertilizer/manure
sections.
ECHO's Global
Bookstore On-Line offers publications on soil fertility, mulching,
cover crops, agroforestry, and other tropical and temperate agricultural
development topics.
The World Neighbors
On-Line Store
offers publications for development practitioners on agriculture
and other topics. Of particular interest is the "Dryland
Farming" booklet series. Some items, are available in French
and Spanish.

about cover crops and green manures in Central America.
IDRC's Booktique
has a section on agricultural

put out by 13 international organizations. Of particular interest is the
agriculture/food

The Agroforestry
Research Trust offers a number publications related to temperate
agroforestry for sale on-line, by phone or fax, or by mail.

on nuts, fruits, other tree and perennial plant crops, permaculture, organic
growing, sustainable agriculture, and rational land use. Books can be

Soil
and Water Conservation Society's book order section
provides numerous publications for sale.
Sciences
of Soils (SoS) is an international on-line soil science journal.
The search function pulls up specific topic articles with abstracts and,
in some cases, full text. On-line subscription and journal subscription
is an option.
The agrononmy/agriculture
catalogue section of Vedams, an on-line bookstore for material published
in India, contains a list of briefly-described titles for sale on-line,
by email or through regular mail.

are massive on-line bookstores. To find publications relevant to soil
health issues, type into the search box terms such as "tropical soil fertility",
"soil biology", etc. Amazon.com also has versions in several foreign languages.

Express is a free, biweekly, e-publication that provides a listing
of the latest USAID development experience reports for sale or downloading.
