    Temperate focus
  • ATTRA (Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas) is a sustainable agriculture information service that provides technical assistance to farmers, extension agents, market gardeners, researcher and other agriculture professionals in the USA. ATTRA has an excellent Sustainable Agriculture Organizations list.
  • Rodale Institute focuses on soil health, food quality, regenerative agriculture education, composting and regional, national and international community development.
  • SAN is the communications and outreach arm of SARE, the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, a US Department of Agriculture funded initiative that sponsors sustainable agriculture research and education in the US.
  • American Farmland Trust is a US-based membership organization working to stop the loss of productive farmland through the promotion of environmentally sound farming practices.
  • Core4 is the US-based Conservation Technologies Information Center's (CTIC) approach to improved farm profitability and soil and water conservation.
  • The Worldwide Portal to Soil Health Information's Organic Organizations and Networks links to groups focusing on organic agriculture and agroecology in both temperate and tropical areas.

    Tropics/Subtropics focus

  • CATIE (Centro Agronomico Tropical de Investigacion y Ensenanza, or the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) specializes in education, research, and communication related to tropical agriculture.
  • The African Conservation Tillage Network promotes conservation tillage on the African continent to assure a more sustainable use of soil resources and to combat desertification.
  • ILEIA (the Centre for Research and Information on Low External Input and Sustainable Agriculture) identifies, builds on, and exchanges information about promising technologies for low external input agriculture in developing countries.
  • ECHO is a non-profit organization that works with community leaders in developing countries on issues of food security. It also has a cover crop seedbank.
  • World Neighbors is a development organization focusing on capacity-building in the areas of sustainable agriculture, community-based health, reproductive health, environmental conservation, water and sanitation, and livelihood strategies.
  • IIED's Drylands Programme works through institutions and policies to promote sustainable, equitable, participatory, and decentralized management of natural resources in dryland Africa.
  • Permaculture International offers information on permaculture, links to other organizations, and information for purchasing a membership which provides access to a newsletter and more.
  • The Rice-Wheat Consortium for the Indo-Gangetic Plains was established in 1994 by CGIAR and networks between national and international agricultural institutions on issues of sustainable rice and wheat productivity enhancement in South Asia.
  • Winrock International is a US-based organization working in approximately 40 countries worldwide to increase long-term productivity, equity, and responsible natural resource management.
  • The Food & Fertilizer Technology Center is an international information center for farmers in the Asia Pacific Region.
  • CLIMA (The Centre for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture) studies legumes used in sustainable agriculture in the Mediterranean climate of southern Australia.
  • The Worldwide Portal to Soil Health Information's Organic Organizations and Networks links to groups focusing on organic agriculture and agroecology in both temperate and tropical areas.
